西交利物浦大學(xué)行政信息樓位于西交利物浦大學(xué)蘇州校園，建筑設(shè)計以太湖石為概念，深受蘇州地區(qū)文化和享有盛名的蘇州園林的影響。著名的太湖石也成為了中國文化的重要元素，被譽為“學(xué)者之石”。

行政信息樓由行政中心、學(xué)生信息中心、培訓(xùn)中心以及學(xué)生活動中心四部分構(gòu)成，功能復(fù)雜。設(shè)計上借鑒太湖石內(nèi)部空間的組織形態(tài)，通過切割的手法將太湖石內(nèi)部的錯綜復(fù)雜的孔洞暴露出來，將建筑設(shè)計為一個由若干孔洞穿過的立方體，這些孔洞形成的空間對不同的功能空間起到既劃分又聯(lián)系的作用。在滿足建筑所必需解決的采光、通風(fēng)等問題的同時，與環(huán)境有更密切與直接的關(guān)系與互動，如太湖石般的建筑不再是一個只能被欣賞的孤立個體，而以一種更積極的姿態(tài)矗立于校園，吸引著人們徜徉其中。

Located in the new Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University campus in Suzhou， this main administrative building of the university gives a modern interpretation of the famous Taihu stones. This limestone， eroded over time and available on the islands surrounding and along the shoreline of Taihu Lake， is an essential part of the Chinese culture and regarded as the scholar's stone.

The Administration Information Building comprises an administration centre， a learning and resources centre， a training centre and a student activities centre. The pores and holes of the Taihu stones are transformed into a void structure of a cube with functional spaces linking up diferent programmes in the building. The voids introduce natural daylight and ventilation and also allow the building to respond to the users and surrounding context turning it into a vessel for interaction.
