旁白:Once upon a time, there is an Emperor who loves clothes very much.
皇帝對(duì)著鏡子自言自語(yǔ):Oh, how I do love clothes. I want something beautiful and new!
大臣走上前:Your Majesty, I heard two new weavers have come to our country.
皇帝很激動(dòng):Really? Show the two weavers in!
(大臣引領(lǐng)兩個(gè)騙子織工上前。)
騙子甲一臉奸笑:Your Majesty, we can make the most beautiful clothes in the world.
騙子乙裝作很誠(chéng)懇的樣子:Indeed! These clothes have a magic power. It can not be seen by fools.
皇帝很驚訝:Wow, it sounds great! When I wear those clothes, I will know who is clever and who is stupid. You must make them for me!
騙子故作窘態(tài):But, the clothes are very expensive to make.
皇帝一臉輕松:Don’t worry. Money is no object.
(大臣帶領(lǐng)兩個(gè)騙子退下,給了他們很多金銀珠寶。騙子們回到織布間制作新衣。)
旁白:The tricksters are pretending to work on the clothes as the minister walks in.
大臣:Hello there! The Emperor has sent me to check on the clothes!
騙子甲指著織布機(jī)的位置:Well, well, well! What do you think? They are beautiful, right?
騙子乙雙手在空中撫摸著不存在的布料:I have never seen such beautiful patterns.
大臣一臉疑惑,上下打量著空空的織布機(jī):Hmmmmm...
騙子甲:You can see them, can’t you, sir?
大臣思考了一會(huì),忽然醒悟:Well yes, of course! Such marvelous beauty! Indeed!
Well, I must return to the Emperor and tell him of your hard work!
(大臣退場(chǎng),兩個(gè)騙子相視而笑。)
旁白:After hearing such wonderful things, the Emperor decides to go and see himself.
騙子甲引導(dǎo)皇帝走向織布機(jī):Your highness! Welcome to our humble store.
騙子乙空手托起不存在的布料,走向皇帝:So, what do you think? Isn’t it beautiful?
(皇帝打量了一圈空空如也的織布機(jī),摸著腦袋走了一圈。)
皇帝假笑著:Oh, yes, it’s beautiful!
皇帝:Now tell me, when will these clothes be fi nished?
騙子甲:If we work through the night they can be done by tomorrow, your highness.
皇帝對(duì)騙子豎起拇指:Perfect! Then I will wear them for the parade.
(皇帝高興地退場(chǎng),在皇帝走后,騙子們開(kāi)心地跳起舞來(lái)。)
旁白:The Emperor is riding down the street with his minister for the parade. Crowds of
people are cheering and shouting of the Emperor’s beauty.
皇帝摸摸自己胳膊上并不存在的衣服:Wow, those two did a real good job.
大臣一臉諂媚:Yes, Your Majesty. Everybody loves your clothes.
旁白:A little boy and his father watch the Emperor go by.
小男孩一臉疑惑:Father, why is everyone saying the Emperor’s clothes are beautiful?
男孩的父親:Because they are. Son, can’t you see them?
小男孩皺著眉頭指著皇帝喊道:No! He is not wearing any clothes! He is completely naked!
旁白:The parade becomes silent, as everybody realizes the little boy is right.
皇帝大吃一驚,害羞地遮掩著自己:Oh my god! I’m naked! Get me out of here, quick!
旁白:But everybody, including the minister, was too busy laughing.
(皇帝用雙手遮著自己跑下舞臺(tái),其他人都哈哈大笑。)
