The Importance of National Cultural Image

Absrtact：The national image is a relatively stable overall and comprehensive evaluation of a country by the public in various countries and regions in the world，among which the national cultural image is an important business card to show the image of a country.In the new era，we should pay more attention to the shaping of national cultural image.A good national cultural image is an important bridge between a country and other countries in the world.It is also the key to communication between the people of all countries in the world.It is also a sharp weapon for a country to stand on the world stage for a long time.National cultural image is the main component of national soft power，and shaping national cultural image has unparalleled power to enhance national strength.

In ancient times，Chinese culture led the world trend for more than two thousand years.It has always been the center of world cultural and economic exchanges，which can be seen in tributary diplomacy.The two Opium Wars opened Chinas doors and became the beginning of its cultural decline.China became a synonym of autocracy，feudalism and pedantry，and its cultural image was damaged.In the new era，we should shape our national cultural image by means of diplomatic activities between countries，integrating our culture into the mainstream values，combining individualization with localization，establishing a long-term and effective mechanism for shaping cultural image，giving full play to the advantages of new media，attaching importance to cultural innovation and cultivating diversified cultural talents，and re-enter the center of the world cultural arena.

Chairman Xi Jinping mentioned in many speeches that “we should focus on shaping our national image and on demonstrating the rich historical heritage of China，the pluralistic integration of all nationalities and the great civilized country with diverse and harmonious cultures”.Liangzhu，Hangzhou，is the testimony of Chinese culture for 5000 years.We have abundant cultural resources to shape the national cultural image.Standing on the vast land of more than 960 square kilometers，absorbing the cultural nutrients accumulated by the long struggle of the Chinese nation for more than 5000 years，and possessing the great strength of more than 1.3 billion Chinese people，China has been shaped into a multi-ethnic，multi-cultural and harmonious image of a large civilized country，building cultural self-confidence and enhancing our cultural competitiveness.
