斯里蘭卡是印度洋的咽喉，自古就是“東方十字路口”?？苽惼赂凼菤W亞之間重要的國(guó)際貿(mào)易和石油運(yùn)輸通道，是世界最長(zhǎng)的人工港灣之一，承擔(dān)斯里蘭卡90%以上進(jìn)出口任務(wù)。

科倫坡港口城是斯里蘭卡迄今最大的外國(guó)直接投資項(xiàng)目，也是中斯兩國(guó)在“一帶一路”建設(shè)中的合作典范，被譽(yù)為未來(lái)之城，由斯里蘭卡政府和中國(guó)港灣工程有限責(zé)任公司聯(lián)合開(kāi)發(fā)。項(xiàng)目一期預(yù)計(jì)投資14億美元，帶動(dòng)二期綜合開(kāi)發(fā)投資130億美元，建成后將成為南亞地區(qū)集金融、旅游、物流、IT等為一體的高端城市綜合體。

目前，港口城項(xiàng)目的土地吹填工作已經(jīng)接近尾聲，市政設(shè)施建設(shè)也陸續(xù)啟動(dòng)。自2014年9月動(dòng)工以來(lái)，該項(xiàng)目不僅為當(dāng)?shù)貏?chuàng)造了上千工作崗位，還將世界一流的施工技術(shù)帶到斯里蘭卡。

Ideally located at the throat of?the Indian Ocean， Sri Lanka has been dubbed "Crossroad of theOriental" since ancient times. With?a prime locality， Sri Lanka's Port ofColombo has sensed?as an important international?trade and oil transport?channel between Europe and Asia. As?one of the world's longest man- -made harbors， it undertakes more than90% of Sri Lanka’s import and export shipment.

Colombo Port City is not only the largest?foreign direct investment project?in Sri Lanka's history， but also a?model cooperation project betweenChina and Sri Lanka under the Belt?and Road Initiative. Hailed as the “City?of the Future"， this project is jointly?developed by the Government?of SriLanka and China Harbor EngineeringCompany Limited （CHEC）. Once completed， this project， with an?expected investment of USD 1.4billion for Phase | and a supplementary investment?of USD 13 billion in .comprehensive development forPhase II， will become a high-endurban complex integrating finance，?tourism， logistics and IT in South Asia.

At present， its land reclamation works?are drawing to a close， and?its construction works of municipal facilities?have also kept starting. Since breaking?ground in September 2014，this project has not only created thousands?of jobs for local people， but also?brought world-class construction?technologies to Sri Lanka.
