在澳大利亞開(kāi)健身館開(kāi)推拿診室的布魯斯，連續(xù)20年在浙江省中醫(yī)院學(xué)推拿。已深得病人信任的布魯斯，成了中國(guó)老師的得力助手。

布魯斯又來(lái)中國(guó)了。

清晨，他照例先到西湖邊打上一會(huì)兒太極拳，8時(shí)前準(zhǔn)時(shí)回到醫(yī)院。他熟練地洗手更衣，穿上印有“浙江省中醫(yī)院”字樣的白大褂。時(shí)隔一年，他又一次行走在古色古香的推拿科走廊里，迎面而來(lái)的每一位中醫(yī)師、藥師，他都能叫上名字，人們見(jiàn)著他，也總會(huì)親切地問(wèn)候一聲：“Bruce， see you again！”

過(guò)去的近20年，浙江省中醫(yī)院這個(gè)小小的診室，是澳大利亞人布魯斯最熟悉、最牽掛的地方。每年，他總是如期往返中澳兩國(guó)之間，在這里，他跟著中國(guó)的中醫(yī)師們學(xué)習(xí)針灸推拿、望聞問(wèn)切。博大精深的中醫(yī)藥文化，就在手指拿捏之間、在百味甘苦之中流淌……

每年慕名而來(lái)省中醫(yī)院拜師學(xué)醫(yī)的“洋面孔”不在少數(shù)，布魯斯是其中最有恒心的一位。

“因?yàn)檫@里是中國(guó)，因?yàn)槲液芟矚g中醫(yī)?！弊罱?，筆者與布魯斯在省中醫(yī)院推拿診室外相約一見(jiàn)，整整一個(gè)下午，他用母語(yǔ)英文向筆者講述著自己的中國(guó)故事——

迷戀中國(guó)功夫的小伙子

故事的開(kāi)始，頗有幾分戲劇性。

上世紀(jì)60年代，少年布魯斯生活在英國(guó)的一座小城。彼時(shí)，每逢周末的夜晚，小城的電影院里常會(huì)放映有關(guān)中國(guó)的影片。熒幕前，李小龍、洪金寶、成龍等功夫影星的每一個(gè)動(dòng)作、神態(tài)都深深感染了布魯斯。

“對(duì)年少的我而言，中國(guó)功夫的魅力是不可言喻的，它帶我認(rèn)識(shí)了古老而美麗的中國(guó)?！?/p>

布魯斯說(shuō)著，便掏出隨身攜帶的ipod播放器，幾十年過(guò)去后，他的播放器里依然珍藏著《詠春》等中國(guó)功夫片。由于受到中國(guó)功夫的影響，他11歲時(shí)便開(kāi)始在英國(guó)當(dāng)?shù)匕輲煂W(xué)習(xí)中國(guó)功夫。

那時(shí)的英國(guó)，中國(guó)風(fēng)乍起，武術(shù)館、太極館、中醫(yī)館等相繼出現(xiàn)在大街小巷，并融入當(dāng)?shù)厝说娜粘Ｉ?。在異?guó)他鄉(xiāng)，中國(guó)武術(shù)這一古典武藝，也恰巧成為了傳播中醫(yī)藥文化的橋梁。

剛開(kāi)始學(xué)中國(guó)功夫時(shí)，布魯斯非常好奇，為什么不少功夫電影中，都會(huì)出現(xiàn)中醫(yī)的場(chǎng)景。直到他的功夫老師告訴他，中國(guó)功夫絕對(duì)不止有“力道”那么簡(jiǎn)單。習(xí)武之人舉手投足間，十分講究剛?cè)岵?jì)、內(nèi)外兼修，這其中，蘊(yùn)含著中國(guó)文化的深厚精髓，包括中醫(yī)的經(jīng)脈理論、中國(guó)人的處世哲學(xué)等。

從那時(shí)起，中醫(yī)這個(gè)字眼深深映入了布魯斯的腦海中，中國(guó)這個(gè)相隔近萬(wàn)里之遙的東方國(guó)家深深吸引了他。十余年后，苦心學(xué)習(xí)中國(guó)功夫的布魯斯成為了當(dāng)?shù)匦∮忻麣獾墓Ψ蚶蠋?。?dāng)?shù)氐娜硕贾?，一個(gè)從未來(lái)到中國(guó)的人，在努力傳播著中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化。

然而布魯斯并不滿(mǎn)足于此。常年與中國(guó)功夫打交道，也讓他對(duì)中醫(yī)產(chǎn)生了強(qiáng)烈的向往?！拔疫€是想到中國(guó)去，學(xué)習(xí)真正的中醫(yī)！”

從上世紀(jì)80年代起，中醫(yī)也開(kāi)始走出國(guó)門(mén)，走向五湖四海。在省中醫(yī)院，已有世界各地的留學(xué)生們慕名來(lái)此學(xué)習(xí)中醫(yī)，這里逐漸成為了對(duì)外傳播中國(guó)中醫(yī)藥文化的一扇窗口。

時(shí)間走到2001年，布魯斯與自己的英國(guó)好友艾羅在網(wǎng)上檢索到了省中醫(yī)院正在招募留學(xué)生。很快，兩人發(fā)出了一封飽含熱情的郵件，表達(dá)了自己想要到中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)中醫(yī)的深切愿望。

很快，這封郵件漂洋過(guò)海來(lái)到中國(guó)。省中醫(yī)院推拿科副主任中醫(yī)師葉樹(shù)良立馬給出回復(fù)：“Welcome to China！”

熟悉省中醫(yī)院的人都知道，無(wú)論春夏秋冬、寒來(lái)暑往，總能看到留學(xué)生們?cè)谶@里潛心學(xué)習(xí)。2001年的秋天，布魯斯成為了其中的一員，師從葉樹(shù)良。

布魯斯依然記得第一次來(lái)到省中醫(yī)院推拿科的情形：一位位面帶痛苦的病人走進(jìn)診室，技藝嫻熟的中醫(yī)師們幾乎沒(méi)有借助什么藥物，憑借過(guò)硬的功底，精準(zhǔn)找到穴位，推、拿、提、捏、揉等一系列動(dòng)作過(guò)后，病人臉上痛苦的表情就漸漸消失了。

“這太神奇了！”布魯斯說(shuō)，雖然中醫(yī)提倡的理念與西醫(yī)幾乎完全不同，卻一樣能撫慰病痛中的人們。這樣的場(chǎng)景，再一次如同兒時(shí)看到的電影畫(huà)面一般，深深打動(dòng)著他。

然而，熟知中國(guó)功夫的布魯斯很快發(fā)現(xiàn)，要領(lǐng)會(huì)有著數(shù)千年歷史的中國(guó)中醫(yī)藥文化，并非易事。對(duì)一位土生土長(zhǎng)、沒(méi)有中醫(yī)學(xué)背景的外國(guó)人來(lái)說(shuō)，要如何理解中醫(yī)的天人合一理念？如何把醫(yī)學(xué)與人體、與自然緊密結(jié)合在一起？它如何幾乎不借助藥物，通過(guò)醫(yī)師嫻熟的手法為病人解除痛苦？

“太難了！”布魯斯感慨道，從小接受西方文化的自己與中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化之間的距離，遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超過(guò)了地理上的近萬(wàn)公里。

在葉樹(shù)良的印象中，自己的“洋學(xué)生”布魯斯是極其勤奮的。每年到中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)期間，他總是堅(jiān)持凌晨4時(shí)半起床，到西湖邊練習(xí)完太極之后，就早早來(lái)到醫(yī)院溫習(xí)頭一天學(xué)習(xí)的知識(shí)，然后做好出診前的準(zhǔn)備。通常情況下，跟班學(xué)習(xí)的留學(xué)生不能獨(dú)立行醫(yī)看診，布魯斯通過(guò)觀(guān)察、模仿熟悉推拿技巧，漸漸地在言傳身教之間，他能夠輔助中國(guó)醫(yī)師為病人治療。

剛開(kāi)始，醫(yī)院里的朋友問(wèn)起布魯斯是否知道中國(guó)成語(yǔ)“學(xué)無(wú)止境”的意思，布魯斯搖頭表示不解;在年復(fù)一年的學(xué)習(xí)中，他深刻領(lǐng)會(huì)了其中的內(nèi)涵。每逢有人夸獎(jiǎng)他勤奮努力時(shí)，他便會(huì)用中文打趣道：“學(xué)無(wú)止境嘛！”

近20年來(lái)，布魯斯堅(jiān)持每年抽出一個(gè)月的時(shí)間來(lái)中國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)中醫(yī)，從未落下一次帶教?，F(xiàn)在的他漸漸掌握了中醫(yī)的精髓理念，葉樹(shù)良說(shuō)，他的推拿手法已經(jīng)高于一般的中醫(yī)師。

巧妙入鄉(xiāng)隨俗的推拿師

如今，生活在澳大利亞的布魯斯，在自己的健身館邊開(kāi)起了一間推拿診室，他在解除人們病痛的同時(shí)，也以一己之力在異國(guó)他鄉(xiāng)傳播著中醫(yī)藥文化。

布魯斯說(shuō)，在自己生活過(guò)的英國(guó)和澳大利亞，在街頭巷尾出現(xiàn)中醫(yī)診所已不再是新鮮事物。這些年來(lái)，他一邊欣慰于越來(lái)越多的人開(kāi)始喜歡上這門(mén)來(lái)自中國(guó)的傳統(tǒng)醫(yī)學(xué)，一邊又馬不停蹄地開(kāi)始思考中醫(yī)的本土化。

細(xì)心的布魯斯在出診過(guò)程中發(fā)現(xiàn)，推拿師在對(duì)病人頭頸部位正骨時(shí)，經(jīng)常會(huì)發(fā)出“咔咔”聲，這件在中國(guó)推拿診室里稀松平常的小事，卻令不夠了解中醫(yī)的澳洲人難以接受。

“中國(guó)與澳洲相隔萬(wàn)里，傳統(tǒng)文化要入鄉(xiāng)隨俗并非易事。”布魯斯說(shuō)，我不希望人們?cè)谖麽t(yī)治療效果不好時(shí)才選擇中醫(yī)。中醫(yī)在中國(guó)延續(xù)了數(shù)千年，一直守護(hù)著人們的健康，它一定有自己特殊的價(jià)值。

在詳細(xì)咨詢(xún)過(guò)葉樹(shù)良之后，布魯斯結(jié)合人體構(gòu)造與推拿技法，創(chuàng)新了正骨的手法：他按住病人的頭部，讓病人自己配合張嘴、側(cè)臉，適當(dāng)用力后，就能達(dá)到傳統(tǒng)正骨的效果。

現(xiàn)在，已經(jīng)58歲的布魯斯依然散發(fā)著活力和熱情。省中醫(yī)院的老朋友們問(wèn)他：“你還會(huì)再來(lái)中國(guó)嗎？”他總是毫不猶豫地回答：“當(dāng)然！”

“你為什么如此喜歡中醫(yī)？”筆者很好奇。

布魯斯的回答有點(diǎn)出乎的意料：“其實(shí)，我喜歡的不僅是中醫(yī)，我更喜歡中國(guó)?！彼f(shuō)這20年，他自己也見(jiàn)證了這個(gè)國(guó)家翻天覆地的變化：街道旁高樓林立，夜晚霓虹閃爍，西湖一年比一年美麗，醫(yī)院的診室變得敞亮有序，看病就醫(yī)也變得更方便了……

“我想，中國(guó)的變化不止于此?！辈剪斔菇衲甑膶W(xué)習(xí)就要結(jié)束，在訪(fǎng)談結(jié)束前，他又一次告訴筆者：“我一定會(huì)再回到中國(guó)！”

Leader Andrew Moses， a 58-year-old Australian， has visited Hangzhou once a year since 2001. He operates a massage clinic and a fitness center in Australia. He receives regular training at Zhejiang TCM Hospital in Hangzhou. TCM stands for traditional Chinese medicine.

To his colleagues at Zhejiang TCM Hospital and his Wushu friends in Hangzhou， he is Bruce. He grew up in the 1960s in a small city in UK. He developed a strong passion for Chinese Kungfu after seeing some Kungfu films. Back then， Kungfu centers and TCM clinics were not unusual sight in UK. At 11， he began to take Kungfu lessons. One day he asked his kungfu master why there were TCM doctors in kungfu films. Then he learned that Kungfu is not a brutal power play， that it embodies Chinese philosophy， that it couples force with mercy， that it enhances a practitioners heart and soul， and that it teaches a practitioner how to live wisely and how to treat friends and enemies. After years of practicing and studying， he became a kungfu master and he called himself Bruce Lee， the famous Chinese kungfu star in Hollywood films.

After learning in 2001 that Zhejiang TCM Hospital was recruiting international students， Bruce wrote an email to the international student office of the hospital. In autumn 2001， he became a student there and studied under the guidance of Ye Shuliang， then an associate chief doctor at the Massage Department of the hospital.

Bruce still remembers the first time he stepped into a massage therapy room and watched how TCM massage doctors worked there. The massage doctors accurately found acupuncture points and applied massage moves. And miraculously， he saw how pain disappeared from the faces of these clients after a massage treatment.

He thought it was amazing. He has long since come to understand that， though TCMs philosophy looks different from the ideas of the western medicine， TCM works effectively in some aspects. When he became aware of this， he felt excited. However， he soon found it difficult to approach some essentials of TCM， which has a history of thousands of years. How does a foreigner without any previous knowledge of Chinese culture and philosophy understand Chinese concepts that nature and man are one and that TCM offers effective therapies for pains and diseases？

He settled down to work. A dedicated student， he follows a strict schedule for his work and life in Hangzhou during his one-month-long study every year over the past 18 years. He gets up at four thirty in the morning. After practicing Taiji at a park by the West Lake， he arrives at the hospital to study and prepare himself for a days work. Then he follows Ye Shuliang around to watch how the master works. As an international student， he cant work as a doctor. He observes and takes note of what his master does and tells him. He has learned a great deal. Nowadays， he works as an assistant to his master while studying at Zhejiang TCM hospital.

The lessons he has taken from his master over the past 20 years have opened his eyes to some sophisticated concepts of TCM. Ye Shuliang considers Bruce as a better massage therapist than average TCM doctors in China.

When he first started TCM massage， Bruce was once asked by his Chinese colleagues if he understood the Chinese idiom that learning is an endless process. At first he shook his head and said no. Now he understands what the idiom means. He now uses it in response to his colleagues when they say they are surprised by his amazing progress in the study.

Bruce says it is not unusual to see a TCM clinic in UK and Australia. He is happy to see more and more people begin to find traditional Chinese medicine acceptable. In his practice， however， he understands he needs to localize TCM so that his massage clients can receive treatment better. In the massage department of Zhejiang TCM hospital， he sees how a doctor massages a clients neck and he has long since got used to the sounds produced by the neck bone in treatment. However， when he first made such a sound from a clients neck， the client was astonished. Bruce understood that he needed to make some adjustment. He consulted Ye Shuliang. After some discussion sessions and experiments， he came up with a new technique for neck bone treatment. Nowadays， a client opens his mouth and turns his head while Bruce adds some well controlled pressure， the neck bone is well treated without giving a terrifying sound.

At the end of his one-month-long study at Zhejiang TCM Hospital in 2019， he was asked if he would come back next year. “Of course！” he said without hesitation.

Over the past 20 years， he has learned in depth about TCM massage and he has witnessed sea change in Hangzhou. “I like TCM and I like China，” said Bruce. He has witnessed the huge changes the hospital not far from the West Lake has undergone over the past 19 years.
