全國大學(xué)生英語競(jìng)賽是高等學(xué)校大學(xué)外語教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)和高等學(xué)校大學(xué)外語教學(xué)研究會(huì)組織的全國唯一一個(gè)考查大學(xué)生英語綜合能力的競(jìng)賽活動(dòng)。中國地質(zhì)大學(xué)（武漢）經(jīng)濟(jì)管理學(xué)院鄧恬音同學(xué)榮獲今年全國總決賽演講特等獎(jiǎng)的好成績(jī)。

大家好。起初，人們?cè)诿鎸?duì)一門外語時(shí)，多半會(huì)感到困惑。即便是最美的詩歌，也會(huì)因?yàn)檎Z言的障礙而無從欣賞。那么，不同語言之間后來是如何交流的呢？這還要追溯到整個(gè)語言的發(fā)展歷史。過去，每一種語言都是一個(gè)封閉的世界，這也導(dǎo)致不同語言彼此不能相互溝通。但是，隨著時(shí)間的發(fā)展，不同的語言是如 何實(shí)現(xiàn)語義互通的呢？我認(rèn)為是翻譯實(shí)現(xiàn)了這一點(diǎn)?，F(xiàn)今社會(huì)，很多人掌握了多種語言技能，可以實(shí)現(xiàn)不同語言的自由轉(zhuǎn)換。由此可見，翻譯練習(xí)是學(xué)習(xí)外語的有效方式之一。

我想通過舉自己學(xué)習(xí)語言的兩個(gè)例子來說明翻譯的重要性。首先，我會(huì)選擇讀譯著。我閱讀了英國文學(xué)名著《傲慢與偏見》和《偉大前程》。但是，我發(fā)現(xiàn)這些譯著并不那么精彩。在翻譯的過程中，一些作品會(huì)失真。這個(gè)時(shí)候，我就會(huì)重新閱讀英文原著。有時(shí)，表面看起來兩種語言的文字是完全一一對(duì)應(yīng)的， 但是作為讀者，我還是不能完全理解作者意圖。這個(gè)時(shí)候需要反復(fù)對(duì)照中英文，仔細(xì)對(duì)比推敲。每次我遇到這樣的語言問題，都會(huì)反復(fù)對(duì)照譯文，這是我學(xué)習(xí)英語的一個(gè)重要方法。

其次，我會(huì)自己動(dòng)筆做翻譯。初中時(shí)，老師曾布置作業(yè)讓大家將英文報(bào)紙翻譯成中文。我并不理解老師為什么要求我們做這樣的練習(xí)，因?yàn)槲乙呀?jīng)看懂了英文報(bào)紙上的文章。但我還是按著老師的要求做了，事后才知道這樣的練習(xí)對(duì)外語學(xué)習(xí)至關(guān)重要。翻譯練習(xí)不僅能夠幫助語言學(xué)習(xí)者加深對(duì)語言的理解，還可以使學(xué)習(xí)者了解外語的思維方式，這樣可以縮短母語與外語的轉(zhuǎn)換時(shí)間。

翻譯練習(xí)這種學(xué)習(xí)外語的有效方式，確實(shí)令我受益匪淺。未來，我還會(huì)運(yùn)用這種學(xué)習(xí)方法嘗試其他外語的學(xué)習(xí)。

Good morning！ When， at first， a foreign language showed up in front of our face， there抯 great possibility that we feel confused. Even the most beautiful poems seem to mean nothing to us. And how do we understand these things？ Let抯 look back at the history. In the past， we have no access to any foreign languages like English， Spanish， etc. That used to be a single language world to us. How do we eventually understand the meanings of foreign languages during time passed？ I believe it抯 translation work. Right now in our society， many people have multiple language skills， for example， we can speak Chinese， we can also speak English. How does that happen？ It抯 also the translation work. We can see that translation is very conducive way of learning foreign language.

I want to give you two examples about how I learn a foreign language by translation. The first thing is to read the articles already translated by masters in Chinese. Through translation work， I get to read great British literature work like Pride and Prejudice and The Great Expectations. But somehow， I found that they seem to be not as graceful as what local Chinese writers write. I believe that something beautiful may lost in the translation. So I turned to the original English version to read. However， at the beginning， I couldn抰 understand the whole meaning of it. The words are familiar， but I just don抰 understand when they抮e combined. Therefore I put both the original English version and translation work in front of me. Whenever I came into a problem， I would refer to it. That抯 how I first learn a foreign language through translation

The second step is the translation that I do. In my junior school， once my English teacher asked our class to translate some articles in English newspaper into Chinese. At that time I felt very confused. Why should I translate it into Chinese again under the condition that I already understand its meaning？ But I still do it. After doing it， I found myself have a deeper understanding of the language and also knew the logical thinking of the locals， so that I could speak in English without hesitating for a long time.

I can see that I am beneficial from translation work， a very conducive way of learning a foreign language. In the future， I am happy to learn more foreign languages through translation work. Thank you.
