漢語中的“說”，在英語中有多種表達方式。對此，筆者進行了如下總結(jié)，以期同學們能夠準確運用。

一、say

say表示“說，講”時，多側(cè)重說話的具體內(nèi)容。用作及物動詞時，其后可以接名詞、代詞或從句作賓語。例如：

Could you say it again， please？

請再說一遍好嗎？

She said she would be here at seven o clock.

她說她將在七點鐘到達這里。

常見的固定搭配有：①say to sb.意為“對某人說”。例如：

I said nothing to her about it.

關(guān)于這件事，我什么都沒對她說。②It is said that意為“據(jù)說”。例如：

It is said that Cang Jie created the Chinese character.

據(jù)說，中國漢字是倉頡發(fā)明的。

③that is to say 意為“換句話說，也就是說”。例如：

Next Wednesday， that is to say， the 5th of April.

下周三，也就是四月五日。

④As the saying goes 意為“俗話說，常言道”。例如：

As the saying goes，“Failure is the mother of success.”

俗話說：“失敗是成功之母”。

⑤ say no more 意為“不用多說，別再說了”。例如：

Say no more， I know all about you.

你不必多說，你的事我全都知道了。

二、speak

speak意為“說話，講話”，側(cè)重說的動作、說的方式以及說的能力，還可以表示在莊重場合中的發(fā)言，故它又有“發(fā)言、演說”之意。用作及物動詞時，其后可以直接跟某種語言作賓語。例如：

Could you speak slowly？

你能說慢點嗎？

How fluently she speaks English！

她的英語說得多么流利啊！

常見的固定搭配有：①speak to sb.意為“和某人說話”。例如：

That s no way to speak to your mother！不能那樣跟你媽媽說話！

②speak for 意為“為……說話，代表……講話”。例如：

I speak for all 2，000 members of our com-pany.

我代表我們公司的2000名成員發(fā)言。

③speak up意為“大聲說”，相當于“speak loudly”。例如：

Please speak up so that the people sitting at the back can hear you.

請大聲點，這樣坐在后排的人就能夠聽見你說的話。

④nothing /none to speak of 意為“不值一提”。例如：

She has saved a little money but nothing to speak of.

她存了一點錢，不過數(shù)目不值一提。

⑤speak your mind 意為“有話直說，說心里話”。例如：

Speak your mind， we will be heard.

有話直說，我們會認真聽的。

三、talk

talk 意為“對話，交談”，側(cè)重兩人或多人間的說話或聊天。用作及物動詞時，其后可以接名詞或代詞作賓語。常見的固定搭配有：

①talkaboutsth./sb.表示“談論某事”。例如： She doesntliketotalkaboutherprivatelife.她不愿談及她的私生活。

②talkto/withsb.表示“和某人交談”。例如： I want to have a talk with/ to you alone.

我想要和你單獨談一談。

③talk over表示“商量，討論”。例如：

Let s get together and talk it over.

大家聚在一起商量商量吧。

talk of 表示“談及，說到”，常用于引出新話題。例如：

Talking of Jane， I met her in Shanghai last week.

說到簡，我上星期在上海遇到她了。

⑤talk into表示“說服，勸服”。例如：

She is trying to talk me into changing my mind.

她正試圖說服我改變主意。

四、tell

tell意為“告訴、講述”，側(cè)重說給別人聽，常用作及物動詞，其后可以接雙賓語。常見的固定搭配有：

①tellsb. sth.=tellsth. to sb.意為“告訴某人某事”。例如：

I told her my name.=I told my name to her.

我告訴了她我的名字。

②tell sb.（not）to do sth.意為“告訴某人（不）做某事”。例如：

My mother often tells me not to play with fire.

我媽媽經(jīng)常告訴我不要玩火。

③tell a lie意為“說謊”。例如：

In any case you mustn t tell a lie.

無論什么情況，你都不該撒謊。

④tell the truth意為“說實話”。例如：

To tell the truth，I don treally like the dress.

說實話，我并不喜歡這條裙子。

⑤tell a story意為“講故事”。例如：

Would you like to tell a story？

你想講個故事嗎？

當然，英語中的“說”除了使用 say， tell， talk， speak外，還有其他的表達方式。這就要求同學們平時多閱讀、多總結(jié)、多積累，并掌握其區(qū)別和用法，這樣在運用時就能游刃有余。
