Hu Henghua Meeting with Ikeda Junichiro from Japan Association of Corporate Executives

On March 21, Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government met with Ikeda Junichiro, Director of the Globalization Promotion Committee, Japan Association of Corporate Executives and Chairman of the Board of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., and his delegation.

Zhang Guozhi, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipal Government, attended the meeting.

On behalf of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Hu Henghua warmly welcomed the delegation to Chongqing. He underscored the long-standing economic ties between Chongqing and Japan with a positive trend of collaboration. At present, Chongqing is taking active actions to facilitate the implementation of Chinas national strategies such as the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-Hub Mega-Region, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, thus speeding up the modernization drive of New Chongqing. Chongqing is willing to deepen mutual understanding and share development opportunities with Japans economic community. Efforts will be made to explore the potential for win-win economic and trade cooperation, especially in fields such as smart manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, new materials, automobiles, elderly healthcare, and the building of an international consumption center.

Ikeda Junichiro spoke highly of the significant progress and promising future of Chongqings socio-economic development. He is open to enhancing exchanges and promoting greater cooperation between companies, thereby playing a positive role in the development of Japan-China relations.
