1.
Dear Editor-in-Chief,
Congratulations on the 16th anniversary of 21st Century-School Edition!
Im a regular reader of your newspaper. I am truly grateful to your newspaper for the help it has been giving to me in studying English. If it had not been for the guidance of your newspaper, I wouldnt have acquired so much knowledge. I like it very much for the reason that it not only provides a great variety of the latest news at home and abroad but also covers a wide range of interesting topics. In my view, it would be better if 21st Century-School Edition carries more articles to guide us in our English writing, and I hope that it will become even more popular.
Sincerely yours,
Li Hua

Dear Sir or Madam,
Im Li Hua, an 18-year-old middle school student from China. I read from the Internet the announcement of an activity that you will hold to give the second-hand textbooks to newcomers as gifts at the very beginning of a new term and I am interested in it. I know that you welcome students from different countries and Id like to participate in it. I aim to take part in it not only because I tend to save the resources and help the poor students but also because I attempt to inspire other students who used the book to work harder. I hope I will be accepted as a member of your activity. And Id like to express my thanks to you if you would consider choosing me to be one.
Looking forward to your reply!
Sincerely yours,
Li Hua
