For thousand years, traditional Chinese scholars seek to live in seclusion on the southern mountain as a way to show their pride and aloofness.
The spirit of sharing, although not prominent, enjoys a long history. This can be proved by a sentence said by Duke Jing of Qi, which is collected in Feng Menglong’ s Records of the States in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty ——“Your Excellency are tied up with state affairs,so I’d like to share with your Excellency some music and liquor that I find fascinating.”
In traditional society, the spirit of sharing can be seen in bookborrowing and message conveying between friends, and stuff borrowing and lending among neighbors.
As time goes, sharing in temporary society is linked to economy.
Sharing Economy is a term first coined by two American professors in 1978. It’s an economic phenomenon popular in recent years, featuring a market platform initiated by a third party and based on IT. In China, the most noticeable example is bike-sharing.
Maybe you have heard that high-speed rail, Alipay, bike-sharing and online shopping are called jokingly as the new four great inventions in China.
Although the cover of this volume in July says “Sharing Economy”, what we literally intend to elaborate is life of sharing.
What we hope to display is that sharing has entered every moment and corner of our life. It not only belongs to economics, but has also become one of our lifestyles.
In this way it would be easier to understand the current trend, the change of conversation topics from what is sharing economy to what is more to be shared. Such kind of change belongs both to economics and sociology.
What Is More to Be Shared Today?
