Li Jintai is a calligrapher who has studied and practiced calligraphy for over six decades. In particular, he is noted for writing the Chujian calligraphy. He has had increasingly high reputation in the calligraphy field of Beijing during the past decade. Because of his efforts and achievements, Chujian calligraphy is gradually known by the public. He is also a scholar and calligraphy theoretician specializing in studying the Chu characters and calligraphy. Whats more, he is a poet who has published his first collection of poems Poetry of Sanyu Zhai. He comes from the depth of history and walks towards future. The history will remember his name, Li Jintai, the pioneer and leader of the Chinese Chujian calligraphy.
他是書法家。他從七歲開始提筆寫字,六十寒暑,臨池不輟,精通篆隸楷行草。一筆草書,精妙絕倫,其格調(diào),其氣勢,其質(zhì)感,其力度,其節(jié)奏,其韻律,如江河泄地,天馬行空,又如弱柳扶風(fēng),古剎聞琴。其狂草四屏毛澤東《沁園春 雪》,撼人心魄。
他是楚簡書法家。十年來,在京城,在書藝圈,“楚簡書家”的名頭是越來越響了。因為他的努力,因為他的成就,楚簡書法已經(jīng)開始走進(jìn)普通人的視野。2500年前,一個姓李的牛人,騎青牛,過函關(guān),“言道德之意五千言”西去,不知所蹤。其真跡,可能還深埋地下,也可能早已灰飛煙滅。2500年后,又一個姓李的牛人,誓發(fā)宏愿,欲復(fù)先祖古著舊觀,殘燈古簡,餐墨宿案,抉微探隱,追本溯源,寒暑六載,八易其稿,天意不負(fù),竟成巨秩,百米長卷《楚簡書道德經(jīng)》赫然問世。由是,人們發(fā)現(xiàn),書法不僅只有篆隸楷行草,甲骨文金文之外,還有楚簡書法;年輕人感嘆,我們竟然還有如此光輝燦爛的古代文明;某些人開始明白,月亮并不只是西方的才圓,我們老祖宗的那些東西真是太偉大太高明太超前了。
他是學(xué)者,他是書法理論家。也許搞學(xué)問爬格子并不是他的初衷,他只想成為一個書家。但是,歷史選擇了他,機(jī)緣成就了他。他在研究楚文字、楚簡書法的時候,一個問題跳進(jìn)了他的腦海:這些毛筆書寫的簡帛文字,是篆書呢,還是隸書?他是一個富于挑戰(zhàn)勇于進(jìn)取的人。他收集資料,查閱典籍,求教前輩,咨詢同道。結(jié)果,他困惑了:長期以來,人們對隸書的認(rèn)識還只停留在“形”的階段,而對隸書的科學(xué)定義必須深入它的本質(zhì)。為此,他相繼撰寫了《從<上海博物館藏戰(zhàn)國楚竹書(六)·孔子見季桓子>看楚簡的隸化 》《中國書法自楚簡始——論楚簡的書法史意義》等論文。他闡述并論證了:一、隸書的本質(zhì)特征是筆畫,即點橫撇豎捺。這是隸書和以線條為特征的甲金文字最根本的區(qū)別。二、楚簡帛文字用毛筆開創(chuàng)了中國文字書寫的歷史,楚簡帛文字創(chuàng)造了中國文字的筆畫系統(tǒng)。三、楚簡帛文字開啟了隸變的先河,楚簡帛文字才是真正的“初有隸書”。四、中國書法自楚簡始。無疑,他發(fā)現(xiàn)了真理,他填補(bǔ)了楚簡書法理論的空白,他已經(jīng)在建立自己的楚簡書法理論體系。
他又是詩人。他已經(jīng)刊行了他的第一部詩集,宣紙線裝本《三余齋詩草》。在閱讀了他的詩集后,著名作家陳應(yīng)松慨然為之作序,詩壇耆宿晨崧親自介紹他加入中國詩詞學(xué)會。
他說:“創(chuàng)新是藝術(shù)的靈魂,藝術(shù)家應(yīng)該思考的是,你為藝術(shù)貢獻(xiàn)了什么,你為歷史留下了什么?!彼裕簽橥ダ^絕學(xué),替后世傳道統(tǒng)。因之,他不遺余力,專心致志地研究楚簡書法。這里展出的一百多幅作品,是他近幾年,特別是2010年變法以來竭盡心智創(chuàng)作的書法精品。他認(rèn)為,楚文字既然是文字,那就應(yīng)該和現(xiàn)代文字一樣,有不同的風(fēng)格,有眾多的表現(xiàn)形式。他殫精竭慮,一幅作品,他會嘗試用不同的形式不同的風(fēng)格去表現(xiàn)它,演繹它。人們慨嘆,他把楚簡書法藝術(shù)的旨趣推到了極致。
他從歷史深處走來,正在向未來走去。
“自信楚書傳吾跡,百年書史有斯人”。歷史應(yīng)該記住他——中國楚簡書法的先行者和領(lǐng)軍人物李金泰。
Li Jintai, pen name Chifeng, is a scholar, poet, calligrapher and calligraphy theoretician. Li graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Central China Normal University and studied from calligraphy master Mr. Liu Yi. He now serves as Dean of China Research Institute for Chujian Calligraphy, member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of Chinese Poets Association, member of the Art Committee of China Couplets Association, member of the Calligraphy Education Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Education, and artist specially employed by the Chinese Office of United Nations Development Programme. Li, who has devoted himself to studying the calligraphy of Bamboo Slips of Chujian, and Chujian characters for decades, is well-known as a master of Chujian calligraphy.
