結(jié)果露比跟弗雷格配上了，要我說，這可真是天作之合。But Ruby got paired up with Fregley,and if you ask me,that’s a match made in heaven.

最后，莫雷塔夫人念出了最后一個(gè)女生的名字，但還有一幫男生沒被念到，包括我在內(nèi)。我們班男生比女生多得多，所以不是每個(gè)人都能有舞伴，這也是情理之中的事。Eventually,Mrs.Moretta read out the last girl’s name,and there were still a bunch of boys left over,including me.There are a lot more boys in my class this year than girls,so it made sense that not everyone got a partner.

不過我還是有點(diǎn)失落，居然沒人在紙片上寫我的名字。我們這幫人以為我們就不用參加交誼舞單元了，可以在體育館的另一頭連續(xù)踢三個(gè)星期的球。But still,I was a little disappointed that no one wrote my name on oneofthose little slips of paper.Then us guys realized we weren’t gonna have to do the ballroom dancing unit and that we could just play kickball on the other side of the gym for three weeks.

不過我們高興得太早了。莫雷塔夫人說人人都得跳舞，然后開始把我們幾個(gè)男生兩兩配對(duì)。結(jié)果不知怎么地，我就跟卡洛斯·埃斯卡萊跳起了華爾茲。But we celebrated a little too soon.Mrs.Moretta said that everyone had to dance,and she started pairing us boys up with one another.So the next thing I knew,I was dancing a waltz with Carlos Escalera.
