The rational “immanence” of enlightenment morality laid the metaphysical foundation for modern morality, which poses a difficult dilemma between moral freedom and moral nihilism. A reexamination of the dilemma from the perspective of historical materialism helps us interpret the moral philosophy of historical materialism. The reconstruction of moral subjects as “real individuals” in this context not only helps identify the social causes of the dilemma in practice, but also brings about a unity between individual freedom and common freedom in theory. In view of this, historical materialism reaffirms the values of the ethical community which has been destroyed by the enlightenment morality, and creates an ideological structure that unifies moral subject and ethical entity. The concept of “productive life” in Marx’s communist thought and its reconstruction of the form of human common life are the theoretical and practical forms of the values and ideological structure.

Moral experience in daily life is often found inadequate in abnormal contexts, thus causing moral panic and ethical estrangement. Pushing human beings back into the original state in the existential sense, the covid-19 pandemic has threatened the stability of society order. For this reason, the stranger problem arising from modernity has come up and the human ferality has flowed again, which gives rise to the simple dichotomy of good versus evil, left versus right, and East versus West. A reflection on the ethical estrangement in abnormal contexts may provide a new perspective on human future and shed light on the legitimacy of ethical life. It may help bring an end to the estrangement, restore our trust in strangers, create a morally upright community and foster social solidarity.

Industry cluster is an effective way to help build vibrant regional economic ecosystems. The industry clusters in China have shown distinctive characteristics after years of competition with other countries. Against the background of high quality industrial development, new globalization and “domestic and international dual cycle”, it is important to study the status quo of innovation clusters in China in order to find out how industry clusters stimulate innovation and develop emerging industries. This paper argues that innovation clusters are characterized by the integration of “industrial chain” and “innovation chain” in given regions, and the mutually reinforcing roles of government and market. A successful innovative cluster would be impossible without the cooperation among different innovation agents and the activities designed to meet the needs arising from the uncertainties of innovation. A case in point is the ongoing industrial innovation in some coastal regions such as Suzhou. Nurturing innovation in industry clusters of Chinese characteristics is important for the building of a strong industrial system in theory and practice.

This paper studies the influence of e-commerce on the export performance of the member enterprises in China’s key e-commerce platforms. Firstly, it finds that the platforms have a significant positive influence on the export performance of China’s manufacturing enterprises when it adopts the double difference propensity score matching method to identify the influence. Secondly, in terms of the transmission mechanism of the influence, it finds that the promotion effect on these enterprises’ export consists in the internationalization of brand and the expansion of trade margin. This study sheds light on China’s brand internationalization and export diversification.

Anational parks helps in the protection of natural resources, cultural resources and the heritage of human civilization. Local residents in national parks leave their carbon footprints though they protect the local natural and cultural resources. This paper studies the ecological threshold of local residents under the ecological carrying capacity constraints of national parks. It firstly analyzes the status quo from the two perspectives of natural and cultural preservation and the ensuing problems. Then, based on the ecological footprint theory, it establishes the analytical framework and measurement models for the ecological footprint and ecological threshold of national parks and local residents respectively. An empirical study conducted in Wuyishan National Park shows that the above measurement method has good feasibility and validity. Finally, a super-loop model of the conservation of natural and cultural heritage in national parks is constructed to determine how to manage the local residents.

As a response to the government’s ecological civilization plan, national park construction is faced with the problems of how to balance the interests of government, local community and nature. In order to encourage the local community participation, this paper makes a detailed analysis of community participation in terms of human-land conflict, community development, ecological civilization construction, and governance modernization. The results show that community participation in national park construction can be carried out in four aspects. First, increasing the degree of participation by encouraging local business in agriculture, tourism and franchising. Second, providing solid financial, legal, and policy support. Third, fostering the residents’ awareness of participation. Fourth, raising their awareness of environmental protection.

When the School of Law, NCU was founded in 1928, it had three departments: Law, Political Science and Economics. Thanks to the dynamism of the newly-founded ROC government and the geographical advantages of NCU, the School recruited a number of professors and students of excellence. After the outbreak of the anti-Japanese war, NCU moved to Chongqing where three new departments were established in the School: Sociology, Frontier Politics and Law (judicial group). The legal education program in the School reached a new height in the period of ROC: it provided education in a wide array of disciplines though it started late among Schools of the same kind; it boasted a galaxy of professors and made great academic accomplishments; it nurtured excellent graduates who went on to become influential both at home and abroad. From 1927 to 1949, the School had ranked first in the field of legal education. Though the universities noted for legal education were said to be“Chaoyang in the North and Soochow in the South”, “NUC in the Middle” should also get on the honor roll.

Current studies in codification ofhas not yet formulated the concept of green development in a strict sense. Because this concept is largely embodied in the, a subsystem of the, theprovides a proper perspective to examine the concept and the balance between economic interests and environmental interests. To establish the ecological limits of the, we should give priority to ecological protection and economic development under total control. To materialize the concept in the, we should pinpoint the behavior law with enterprises as the subject of a duty, set the dual structure of “control + prevention” and legalize the “double carbon” policy.

Driven by a new wave of scientific and technological revolution, digital economy has been developing so rapidly that data have become an important factor in production. In this environment, enterprises need to use big data to thoroughly study the characteristics of their users. “User portrait”, an important user analysis tool, emerge as the times require. When major public emergencies arise, aviation insurance industry is detrimentally impacted. How to mine and apply data resources with the help of “user portrait” technology and entropy method, and how to study user characteristics to achieve accurate marketing and promote insurance demand become main concerns to the industry. Through the establishment and analysis of the user portrait model, it is concluded that after major public events young users and male users are more willing to buy insurance, the proportion of diversified insurance products increases, and the proportion of non-habitual insurance increases. Based on this, the paper offers suggestions for enterprises to improve their services and boost their performance.

While the “filter bubble” provides internet users with personalized information by algorithmic recommendations and boosts information spread, we risk compromising the national ideological security on the internet: “information cocoon” can affect the public perception of mainstream ideology; continuing disputes between trends of thought can influence the political identity of internet users; and polarized opinions can threaten the dominant ideology. This paper argues that we place stricter controls technologically, improve opinion expressions in discourse, foster media literacy of internet users and promote collaborative governance.

Watershed anthropology, involving ethnochoreology and watershed anthropology, considers the Yangtze River watershed as a “cultural space” in the sense of cultural geography. This paper studies the dance cultures of ethnic groups in the Yangtze River watershed and explains how dance culture has completed the construction of this cultural space with the help of interregional cultural interaction. Under the theoretical framework of watershed anthropology, ethnic dances of Qing-Zang, Dian-Qian, Ba-Shu, Jing-Chu and Wu-Yue sub-cultural regions make interregional interactions through “corridors and roads”. In the continuous, gradual and two-way “interregional cultural interaction”, the cultural commonality increases while the difference diminishes, which finally forms a reconstructed and integrated space in this area --“cultural space of dance”. “Interregional cultural interaction” under the “unified view of time and space” provides a more equal and inclusive perspective on the interaction among the dance cultures of various ethnic groups and forms a theoretical basis of a cultural community building in the Yangtze River watershed.

There have been considerable discussions on profit and righteousness in traditional Chinese philosophy. In China’s modern period, the increasingly accepted view that profit and righteousness are equally important promoted the successful integration between gentry class and merchant class. The newly-formed gentry-merchant class had to make a difficult choice between righteousness and profit which were the pursuit of gentry class and merchants respectively. Borrowing the Buddhism thought of self-benefiting altruism, they minimized the differences between the principles of Buddhism and Confucianism in an effort to strike a balance between righteousness and profit.
