仁與義的法則、標準,也稱仁義之道。董仲舒強調(diào),推行仁愛的方法,在于愛他人,而不是愛自己;推行道義的方法,首先應(yīng)該嚴格要求自己,而不是苛求他人。董仲舒希望當政者嚴格要求自己,以寬厚的態(tài)度對待別人。董仲舒的仁義之法發(fā)展了儒家仁義思想。
The term refers to principles or standards of benevolence and righteousness, also called theway of benevolence and righteousness. Dong Zhongshu emphasized that in promotingbenevolence one should love others, not oneself, and that in promoting righteousness oneshould first be strict with oneself rather than be demanding of others. He expressed thehope that those in power could exercise stringent self-discipline but be empathetic andaccommodating to others. His standards of benevolence and righteousness carried forwardthe Confucian thought of benevolence and righteousness.
