學(xué)會(huì)表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn)并陳述理由是高中學(xué)生應(yīng)該重點(diǎn)掌握的。寫這類文章時(shí),學(xué)生必須首先要明確自己的觀點(diǎn):贊成還是反對(duì),而后層次清晰地進(jìn)行論證,最后水到渠成地得出結(jié)論。以上兩篇文章是就“學(xué)生是否應(yīng)該課后找老師補(bǔ)課”這個(gè)話題進(jìn)行論證,第一位同學(xué)持贊成意見,第二位同學(xué)表達(dá)反對(duì)的觀點(diǎn)。兩位作者觀點(diǎn)明確,論證有力,使用了高級(jí)詞匯如:acquire plenty of new knowledge,gain much popularity among, be bound to achieve good academic grades and embrace success, make reasonable arrangements, lead to serious physical and psychological problems等為文章添色加彩;文中也出現(xiàn)了很多高級(jí)句型如:go over what have been learnt in class, which may lead to many problems being unable to solve; tutor's help, which has a negative impact on developing independent and creative thoughts in the long term,is certain to deprive us of the chance of learning by ourselves。這些句型很好地糅合了賓語從句、非限制性定語從句以及動(dòng)名詞做介詞后的賓語的用法,體現(xiàn)了小作者們深厚的語言功底,是文章的亮點(diǎn)。

這四篇學(xué)生習(xí)作圍繞Should students find tutors after class這一話題進(jìn)行論述??傮w上看,無論是正方還是反方,四位同學(xué)的習(xí)作結(jié)構(gòu)比較清晰,即在開頭鮮明地表達(dá)觀點(diǎn),然后提出合理的論據(jù),最后在結(jié)尾處簡(jiǎn)明地重申觀點(diǎn)。在此過程中,論據(jù)的表達(dá)邏輯清楚,論據(jù)提出的順序體現(xiàn)了各個(gè)論據(jù)重要性的差異,而且論據(jù)之間使用了有效的連接詞如above all, moreover, last but not least, on top of this, all in all等等。
其次,語言表達(dá)方面,四位同學(xué)都使用了一些地道的詞匯,意思清楚,使用恰當(dāng),表達(dá)準(zhǔn)確,如tutor classes are usually in a smaller size, receive proper training, broaden their horizons, higher efficiency and better performance, it makes no sense to find tutors, gain access to knowledge, polish up their learning skills, come to their aid, make a huge difference, put extra stress on, under certain circumstances, can be a way out, more important should be attached to等等。一些情態(tài)動(dòng)詞的使用也比較自然貼切,如 after-class tutoring can be extremely expensive, finding a tutor may help them make the most of their time等等。
四位同學(xué)都有意識(shí)地使用復(fù)雜句式和語法形式來表達(dá)觀點(diǎn),這一點(diǎn)也比較出彩,如That being said, when under certain circumstances where students found it hopeless to...這句中使用了獨(dú)立主格結(jié)構(gòu)、時(shí)間狀語從句、定于從句等。又如…for those students who have some free time after finishing their schoolwork, they want to polish up their learning skills. Tutors can come to their aid and help them to improve efficiency, which makes a huge difference.這句中用到了限定性和非限定性定語從句。此外,Whether students should find tutors after class has been a hot topic for a long time.一句中使用了主語從句。這些語法形式的使用增加了語言的表現(xiàn)力,使表達(dá)復(fù)雜的觀點(diǎn)成為可能,進(jìn)而使說理論述更加令人信服。
