書籍是知識和智慧的寶庫。書籍是通往人類想象之外世界的大門,幫助我們探索全新視野,感受不同文化,學(xué)習(xí)他人經(jīng)驗。
作為記者,我認(rèn)為講故事是我們的本能,因此書籍在我們的個人生活和職業(yè)生涯中特別重要。書籍不僅可以開闊我們的思想和視野,還可以讓我們超越時間和空間,到遙遠的地方旅行,深入探索人類思想和情感。
There is a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom that lies within the pages of a book.It is a portal to a world beyond our imagination,where we can explore new horizons,encounter different cultures,and learn from the experiences of others.
As journalists,I believe we are all essentially compulsive storytellers.Thus books hold particular importance in our personal and professional lives,as books have the power to expand our minds and broaden our perspectives.They allow us to transcend time and space,travel to distant lands,and dive into human thought and emotion.
向海外受眾講好中國故事,避免大而化之的描繪
作為在中國媒體工作的外籍人士,我們面臨的最大挑戰(zhàn)和機遇是如何對海外受眾講好中國故事。近年來,中國在全球舞臺上扮演的角色日益重要,我們有責(zé)任以一種讓海外受眾聽得懂的方式講述中國故事。但是我們應(yīng)該怎么做呢?我們?nèi)绾沃v述中國故事,才能讓受眾產(chǎn)生共鳴,激發(fā)他們的想象力呢?
首先,我們要看到,中國是一個多元復(fù)雜的國家。中國是多民族國家,每個民族都有自己的傳統(tǒng)和習(xí)俗,這些傳統(tǒng)和習(xí)俗深深扎根在人民的日常生活中。在講述中國故事時,我們必須努力反映這種多樣性,避免大而化之的描繪。我們需要理解和尊重這些文化差異,才能更好地傳達我們所講述的故事的意義。
其次,我們需要認(rèn)識到,中國社會正在快速發(fā)展,因此我們必須尋找那些突出中國人民創(chuàng)新精神和創(chuàng)業(yè)動力的故事。如果傳統(tǒng)敘事已經(jīng)無法讓受眾產(chǎn)生共鳴,我們必須勇于挑戰(zhàn)傳統(tǒng)。我們需要努力在情感層面上與受眾建立聯(lián)系。無論我們講述的是勝利或悲劇,還是日常生活,我們都必須設(shè)法讓讀者產(chǎn)生共鳴。這意味著要找到共同點,無論是通過共同的價值觀、共同的經(jīng)歷,還是共同的愿望。
Telling stories of China to overseas readers should avoid painting it with a broad bruch
Speaking of storytelling,as ex-pats working in the Chinese media,the biggest challenge,as well as the opportunity before us,is how to tell stories from China in ways that better connect overseas readers.
In recent years,China has become an increasingly important player on the global stage,and it is our responsibility to tell its stories in a way that connects with readers overseas.But how can we do this? How can we tell Chinese stories that resonates with our audience and captures their imaginations?
First,we must remember that China is diverse and complex.It is home to different ethnic groups,each with its traditions and customs,which are deeply ingrained in the daily lives of its people.When telling stories about China,we must strive to reflect this diversity and avoid painting it with a broad brush.By understanding and respecting these cultural nuances,we can better convey the significance of the stories we are telling.
Next,we need to recognize that China is a rapidly evolving society,so we must seek out stories highlighting the Chinese people’s innovative spirit and entrepreneurial drive.Finally,we must be willing to challenge conventional narratives when they no longer hold.We also need to make an effort to connect with our audience emotionally.Whether telling stories of triumph,tragedy,or everyday life in China,we must find ways to make them relatable to our readers.This means finding common ground,whether it be through shared values,experiences,or aspirations.
再次,還有一種與海外讀者產(chǎn)生連接的有效方式,那就是視覺敘事。圖片、插圖和照片有助于使中國故事活起來,為讀者創(chuàng)造身臨其境的體驗。將視覺元素融入故事中可以抓住受眾的注意力,以更容易理解的方式傳達復(fù)雜的內(nèi)容。
最后,我們需要注意講述中國故事時使用的語言。中國文化充滿象征主義和隱喻,我們選擇的詞匯會對故事如何被感知產(chǎn)生深遠的影響。我們必須謹(jǐn)慎措辭,避免使用海外受眾可能不熟悉的習(xí)語、隱喻或文化參考,尋找最能引起共鳴、最有力的語言來傳達故事的精髓。
簡而言之,堅持這些原則,我們就可以讓世界共享豐富瑰麗的中國文化,促進不同文化之間的理解和欣賞。
Next,Visual storytelling is another effective way to connect with overseas readers.Images,illustrations,and photographs can help bring Chinese stories to life and create a more immersive experience for readers.By incorporating visual elements into our storytelling,we can capture our audience’s attention and convey complex ideas in a more accessible way.
Finally,we must be mindful of our language when telling Chinese stories.Chinese culture is steeped in symbolism and metaphor,and the words we choose can profoundly impact how our stories are perceived.Therefore,we must choose our terms carefully,avoid using idioms,metaphors,or cultural references that may not be familiar to overseas readers,seek out the most evocative and powerful language to convey the essence of the stories we are telling.
In a nutshell,by embracing these principles,we can share the richness and beauty of Chinese culture with the world and promote greater understanding and appreciation between different cultures.
提高中國對外國人的吸引力,激勵和透明度很重要
講好中國故事也意味著提高這個國家對外國人的吸引力。眾所周知,中國一直在為成為世界一流的創(chuàng)新中心而不懈努力,其關(guān)鍵在于吸引和留住全球頂尖人才。據(jù)我所知,中國的目標(biāo)是打造繁榮的創(chuàng)新生態(tài)系統(tǒng),讓最優(yōu)秀、最聰明的人才聚集在一起,創(chuàng)造出不僅有益于中國,而且有益于整個世界的新思想和新技術(shù)。那么,如何吸引更多的外國人才來中國呢?
首先,需要創(chuàng)造一個歡迎和支持國際人才的環(huán)境。這意味著提供便捷的簽證和工作許可獲取渠道,以及與世界其他主要創(chuàng)新中心相比具有競爭力的薪酬和福利。

Enhance attractiveness of China for international talent with an emphasis on incentives and transparency
Conveying better stories would also mean boosting the magnetism of this country for ex-pats.As we all know,China has been working tirelessly to become a world-class innovation hub,and a vital part of this strategy is to attract and retain top talent from around the globe.From what I understand,the goal is to create a thriving ecosystem of innovation where the best and brightest minds can come together to develop new ideas and technologies that will benefit China and the world.So,how can we attract more foreign talent to China?
First and foremost,we need to create an environment that is welcoming and supportive of international talent.This means providing easy access to visas and work permits and offering competitive salaries and benefits that are on par with those offered in other major innovation hubs worldwide.
But attracting talent is only half the battle.Once we have talented individuals in China,we need to ensure that they have the resources and support they need to succeed.This means investing in world-class research facilities,providing access to funding and mentorship,and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Attractive incentives to entice foreign talents to come and work in China are also very important.Rewards and recognition have incredible power in the workplace.As we all know,the work we do here every day is challenging and demanding,and it takes a great deal of skill,dedication,and hard work to succeed.But receiving recognition and rewards for our efforts can make all the difference in the world.Not only does recognition boost our confidence and sense of selfworth,but it also fosters a sense of loyalty and commitment to our organization.When we feel appreciated and valued for our work,we are more likely to go above and beyond to achieve our goals and contribute to the company’s success.

Another essential factor that helps to create a favorable work environment is transparency,which means helping us solve our work-related queries or at least pointing to a direction of a concrete answer.Transparency is not only an organizational value,but it also plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment.When an organization is transparent,employees feel empowered and trusted.They feel confident that their voices are heard and that they are an integral part of the decision-making process.This,in turn,boosts morale and increases job satisfaction.When employees are happy and engaged,they are more likely to work harder,be more productive,and contribute to the growth and success of the company.Transparency also helps to build trust between employees and leadership.It creates an open and honest culture where information is freely shared,and everyone is on the same page.This promotes a sense of unity and collaboration,leading to better teamwork,stronger relationships,and improved communication.
However,transparency is not just a buzzword.It requires effort and commitment from all levels of the organization.It means being open and honest about successes and failures,communicating openly about company goals and objectives,and providing regular feedback to employees.

3月3日,我很榮幸參加了新華社外國專家書屋這一啟蒙寶庫的揭牌儀式。
這個世界紛紛擾擾,充滿噪音,但書籍可以讓我們從混亂中解脫出來。它們提供了避風(fēng)港,讓我們擺脫現(xiàn)實,反思生活,在語言的力量中找到安慰。此外,書籍不僅是個人致富的源泉,也是社會變革的催化劑。它們可以塑造我們的集體意識,挑戰(zhàn)我們的偏見,并激勵我們成為世界積極變革的推動者。

The magic of books,the gift of realing to the next generation
On March 3th,I attended the inanguration of the bookstore of Xinhua Agency,which is a treasure trove of enlightment
In a world where we are bombarded with distractions and noise,books offer a respite from the chaos.They provide a haven where we can escape,reflect,and find solace in the power of words.Moreover,books are a source of personal enrichment and a catalyst for social change.They can shape our collective consciousness,challenge our biases,and inspire us to be agents of positive change in the world.
I hope all of us can make use of this bookstore.Let us cherish and celebrate the importance of books in our lives.Let us continue to read,learn,and grow.Let us pass on the gift of reading to future generations,so they also can experience the magic of books.
