as well as I could是一個(gè)由as…as引導(dǎo)的狀語從句，省略了謂語動(dòng)詞answer,以避免不必要的重復(fù)?！癮s+adj./adv.+as+主語+can/could”結(jié)構(gòu)可以用“as+adj./adv.+as+possible”來代替，像本句中的as well as I could 可以用as well as possible代替。例如：

He was running as fast as he could.

該句為if引導(dǎo)的虛擬條件句，表示與現(xiàn)在事實(shí)相反的假設(shè)。if從句中的動(dòng)詞用過去式，主句中的動(dòng)詞用過去將來式或情態(tài)動(dòng)詞的過去式形式。由if構(gòu)成的虛擬條件句，如果表示與過去事實(shí)相反的假設(shè)，if從句用過去完成時(shí)，主句用“would/should+現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)”。另外，該句中的if only表示“如果……就好了；但愿……”。例如：
