教師在教學(xué)實(shí)踐中應(yīng)重視句子輸入,并根據(jù)學(xué)生所要掌握的寫作詞匯或者剛學(xué)知識編寫句子及篇章,讓學(xué)生進(jìn)行翻譯然后提供范文讓其進(jìn)行修改,最后建議他們背下來。
一、單詞串連法
1. 為了讓學(xué)生鞏固對imagine, imaginative, imaginary及imaginable的理解,筆者以當(dāng)時網(wǎng)絡(luò)上熱議的Hold住姐為題,編寫了以下語篇。
Miss Lin是個富有想象力的時尚課老師,非常熱愛(have a passion for)創(chuàng)設(shè)虛構(gòu)的場面。她總是想象著如何去控制尷尬的場面。結(jié)果想象得出來的事情都很搞笑。
譯文:Miss Lin, an imaginative fashion teacher, has a passion for creating imaginary situations. She always imagines how to hold the embarrassing/awkward situations.It turns out that the stories imaginable are quite funny./ The stories imaginable turn out to be quite funny.
2. 以下翻譯目的是讓學(xué)生鞏固join, join in, attend, take part in 的用法。
Jodie 去年參加了小天使俱樂部。她經(jīng)常參加俱樂部里面的比賽。有時候?yàn)榱藚⒓颖荣?,她沒有去學(xué)校上課。譯文:Jodie joined the Angel Club last year. She often joined in /took part in the competitions held in the club. Sometimes, she didnt attend school for the competitions. (小天使俱樂部是筆者所在大學(xué)確實(shí)存在的,跟學(xué)生提起他們向往的大學(xué)校園生活,會激發(fā)他們學(xué)習(xí)的興趣。)
二、趣味故事法
筆者在編故事的時候都喜歡用Andrew做主角,后來學(xué)生一直追問這個Andrew到底是誰以及跟筆者有什么關(guān)系。
1. 根據(jù)Module 5 Unit 3 的寫作詞匯編寫了關(guān)于Andrew學(xué)習(xí)英語的故事。
瘦小的Andrew是中山大學(xué)英語專業(yè)的學(xué)生。由于大約90%的英語專業(yè)學(xué)生都是女生,他總是被女生包圍著。當(dāng)然, 他選這個專業(yè)的原因不是因?yàn)榕啵且驗(yàn)樗麑τ⒄Z很狂熱。大家都嘲笑他瘦小的身材,但是他心胸很寬廣,根本就不介意,而是靜下心來學(xué)習(xí)英語。他很善于記住東西,能夠在極其短的時間內(nèi)背一篇又長又難的文章。在他的業(yè)余時間,他總是在校園里練習(xí)英語口語,而不愿意跟別人閑聊。一天,他走在校園里練習(xí)英語口語時,看到遠(yuǎn)處有一個女孩做著同樣的事情。他對她的第一印象不錯。于是他走過去跟她攀談了起來。他們談話的主要話題是英語學(xué)習(xí)。從交談中,Andrew得知這個女孩是附近大學(xué)的學(xué)生。
譯文:Andrew, with a slight figure, is an English major in Sun Yat-sen University. With approximately 90 percent of girl students majoring in English, he is surrounded by girls. Of course, the reason why he chose this major is not that he likes to be with girls around him, but that he is keen on English learning. Everybody laughs at his slight figure, but he is broad-minded and doesnt mind it at all. He just settles down to his study. He has a gift for remembering things and manages to recite a long and difficult English article within an amazingly short time. Rather than chat with others in his spare time, he always practices his spoken English on campus. One day, while he was walking around the campus practicing his oral English,he caught sight of a girl in the distance, doing the same as him. His first impression of her was favourable. Then he went up and chatted with her in English. The main topic of their conversation was English learning. From the conversation, Andrew learned that the girl was a student at the university nearby.
2. 在翻譯中滲透德育。教師在教學(xué)當(dāng)中不僅要教書,也要育人,應(yīng)該超越學(xué)科知識適時地給學(xué)生提醒或鼓舞。
(1)以下語篇是根據(jù)Module 8 Unit 3的寫作詞匯編寫的短文翻譯,學(xué)生剛上高三,通過短文提醒他們學(xué)習(xí)要有計劃和方法。
現(xiàn)在作為一個高三學(xué)生了,我必須開始為自己制定一個可行的計劃。為了實(shí)現(xiàn)我的夢想,我必須爭分奪秒地學(xué)習(xí)。另外,我應(yīng)該銘記偶爾打破常規(guī)也許會幫助我在每個科目上取得明顯進(jìn)步。
譯文:As a senior three student now, I must set about making/set out to make a practical plan for myself. In order to realize my dream, I have to seize every minute to study. Besides, I should bear in mind that leaving the beaten track now and then may help me make remarkable progress in every subject.
