      【設(shè)計(jì)與思考】

      一、教材分析

      執(zhí)教內(nèi)容為譯林版《牛津高中英語》模塊四第一單元 Reading板塊的語篇“Advertisements”。本單元以“廣告”為話題,旨在讓學(xué)生了解廣告的定義、種類、做廣告的方式及與廣告宣傳活動相關(guān)的知識。Reading部分是一篇說明文,結(jié)構(gòu)非常清晰,由什么是廣告、哪里可以見到廣告入手,說到廣告的兩大主要類型,舉例說明兩類廣告在目的和手段兩方面的區(qū)別,最后提醒讀者用恰當(dāng)?shù)膽B(tài)度對待廣告。

      二、學(xué)情分析

      此話題貼近生活,學(xué)生比較熟悉和感興趣,對文本的理解難度不大。但是跟廣告有關(guān)的詞匯及如何用英語闡述一個(gè)廣告及其內(nèi)涵會感覺困難。同時(shí),要培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對不同類型廣告的警惕意識或推廣意識。

      三、設(shè)計(jì)思路

      本節(jié)課教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)的總體流程為:感知(what we see)—— 感悟(what we learn)—— 創(chuàng)造(what we can do)——再思考(express what we feel)

      四、教學(xué)理念

      把英語真正當(dāng)作一門語言,發(fā)現(xiàn)它獨(dú)特的學(xué)科價(jià)值,幫助學(xué)生發(fā)展英語語言學(xué)習(xí)的能力。深刻領(lǐng)會英語課程的核心理念,即2011年版課標(biāo)所倡導(dǎo)的六個(gè)方面的課程理念:(1)注重素質(zhì)教育,體現(xiàn)語言學(xué)習(xí)對學(xué)生發(fā)展的價(jià)值;(2)面向全體學(xué)生,關(guān)注語言學(xué)習(xí)者的不同特點(diǎn)和個(gè)性差異;(3)整體設(shè)計(jì)目標(biāo),充分考慮語言學(xué)習(xí)的漸進(jìn)性和持續(xù)性;(4)強(qiáng)調(diào)學(xué)習(xí)過程,重視語言學(xué)習(xí)的實(shí)踐性和應(yīng)用性;(5)優(yōu)化評價(jià)方式,著重評價(jià)學(xué)生的綜合語言運(yùn)用能力;(6)豐富課程資源,拓展英語學(xué)習(xí)渠道。

      基于英語學(xué)科的課程理念,此課時(shí)的核心思想是:(1)學(xué)生:發(fā)展自主學(xué)習(xí)能力、思維能力和表達(dá)能力,學(xué)而明,學(xué)而悟,學(xué)而用。(2)教師:回歸chalk & talk,發(fā)揮語言魅力,發(fā)掘自身潛力,幫助學(xué)生解決學(xué)習(xí)過程中出現(xiàn)的困難。(3)師生:思維碰撞,平等對話,共同成長。

      【教學(xué)過程及設(shè)計(jì)意圖】

      Step 1.感知(what we see)

      從學(xué)生日常生活中耳熟能詳?shù)膹V告及他們的舊知和經(jīng)驗(yàn)出發(fā),讓學(xué)生感知廣告的無處不在和豐富多樣性,隨之經(jīng)由老師的引導(dǎo)讓學(xué)生思考與闡述什么是廣告和廣告主要有哪些類型。

      T:Lets enjoy a video clip together.While watching,please try to remember as much information as you can.(利用多媒體播放一則廣告串燒)

      T:What did you see just now?

      S:Advertisements.(在黑板上板書標(biāo)題)

      T:How many ads did you see just now?

      S:Many, many.(學(xué)生笑)

      T:Could you tell me some based on your memory?

      S1:Duang (shampoo)...

      S2:Dove...

      S3:iPhone7...

      T:It seems that you are so familiar with these ads. Why are you so familiar with them?

      S:Because we often see them on TV.

      T:Where else can we often see or read ads?

      S:In the street, on the newspapers, on the Internet...

      T:Since you are so familiar with ads, could you tell me what an ad is according to your understanding?

      S:Ads use words and pictures to sell us some products.

      T:Pay attention to the ads on the left(PPT左欄). What do these ads have in common?

      S:They want to sell us some products.

      T:Yes. And what about this website—Ganji?What does it want to sell us?

      S:A service.

      T:So,boys and girls. These ads that want to sell us a product or a service are called “Commercial ads”, so they must be paid by someone. (板書CAs-paid)Pay attention to the ads on the right(PPT右欄). What do these ads have in common?(學(xué)生回答不出)

      T:look at the ad for milk bottles. In fact this ad aims to persuade us to believe in the idea that recycling is important and necessary. So besides commercial ads, therere another kind of ads called “Public service ads”. They are often run for free. A typical example is “China Dream”.(板書PSAs-free)

      T(小結(jié)):Ads are everywhere nowadays. Ads use words and pictures to persuade people to buy a product or a service, or believe in an idea. Therere two main types of ads: CAs and PSAs.

      (設(shè)計(jì)意圖:利用廣告串燒迅速把學(xué)生吸引到本文主題上來,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生獲取信息、組織信息、分析信息、歸納提煉信息的能力。在此過程中,學(xué)生無需閱讀文本,就通過老師的引導(dǎo)、自己已知知識和經(jīng)驗(yàn)的分析和歸納,得出廣告的定義、分類等。)

      Step 2. 感悟(what we learn)

      利用文本的材料和新聞資料引導(dǎo)學(xué)生慢慢感悟商業(yè)廣告和公益廣告在目的和手段方面的不同,引導(dǎo)他們思考公益廣告的積極意義,并鼓勵(lì)他們分享一則印象深刻的公益廣告,同時(shí)提醒學(xué)生關(guān)注商業(yè)廣告中潛在的夸大甚至虛假的信息,在講述自身經(jīng)歷的同時(shí)增強(qiáng)鑒別與警惕的意識。在此過程中學(xué)生逐步體會到對于廣告應(yīng)有的態(tài)度。

      T:Do you think ads tell us the complete truth?(板書always the truth?)

      S:No. (板書加上Not)

      T:Here is an example. Have you ever heard of this piece of news?(顯示佳潔士被罰款 )Do you know how they trick us?(學(xué)生搖頭)

      T:Well, we can refer to our textbook for help. Read Para.3 and answer:1.What are the two examples of CAs given by the writer in this paragraph?2. How do CAs trick us according to these examples?

      S:(學(xué)生回答)

      T(小結(jié)):They play on words, that is, use clever language to trick people into buying their products. Have you ever been tricked by any commercial ads? Share your story with each other.

      S:(同桌分享——集體分享)

      T:So,we can see sometimes“slogans”play an important role. Lets look at some typical ones.

      T:Not all ads trick us, though. Weve got another kind of ads——PSAs. Read Para.4 in your textbook and answer: 1. What do PSAs aim to do? 2. What are the examples of PSAs given by the writer in this paragraph?

      S:(學(xué)生回答)

      T:Since China began a nationwide public service advertising campaign in 1996, various types of good and instructive PSAs have appeared. Here is one that impresses me most. Lets enjoy it together and tell me what message the PSA wants to convey to us?

      S:Its about warm love in a family.

      T:What is the PSA that impresses you most?Share it with us.

      (設(shè)計(jì)意圖:培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的自主學(xué)習(xí)能力,設(shè)置情境提升學(xué)生的思維參與度,進(jìn)而轉(zhuǎn)思維為語言,鍛煉英語表達(dá)能力。學(xué)生當(dāng)堂的“生成”是亮點(diǎn)所在。)

      Step 3. 創(chuàng)造(what we can do)

      選擇貼近師生的素材,讓學(xué)生自主選擇:Choice 1:用教師的DIY技能和作品,創(chuàng)設(shè)情景讓學(xué)生幫助設(shè)計(jì)一個(gè)“Jessys DIY Club”的廣告方案。Choice 2:請學(xué)生為自己的母校百年校慶設(shè)計(jì)宣傳廣告,以擴(kuò)大影響力和吸引更多生源。同時(shí)用教材配套讀本L18+22的兩篇文本,給學(xué)生以啟發(fā)。寓教于樂,讓學(xué)生親自體驗(yàn)設(shè)計(jì)廣告的樂趣。

      T:Up to now,weve learned much about ads. We know that...(根據(jù)板書小結(jié))Therefore,when it comes to ads,be smart and dont be slaves to them!

      T:Well,have you ever thought of designing an ad by yourself?(學(xué)生搖頭)Now,youve got a chance. Work in groups of four. Choice 1:Design an ad for my club——Jessys DIY club in order to attract more students to join my club. Choice 2:Design an ad for your school(Nanjing Zhonghua High School)in order to make it better-known by the public and attract more students to study here.(PPT展示兩種選擇的相關(guān)圖片和信息)As to how to design a good ad, you can turn to Page 17 for reference.(學(xué)生表現(xiàn)出色)

      (設(shè)計(jì)意圖:為學(xué)生提供表現(xiàn)的舞臺,給他們選擇的空間,讓他們發(fā)揮想象力、創(chuàng)造力,培養(yǎng)交流和合作的能力。同時(shí),設(shè)計(jì)廣告的過程無疑是需要學(xué)生回顧已學(xué)知識,結(jié)合廣告的類型、功能、手段等要素,加之自己的創(chuàng)意。)

      Step 4. 再思考(express what we feel)

      課后作業(yè):推薦學(xué)生觀看國外公益廣告視頻“Look Up”,并用書面形式寫下感想。

      (設(shè)計(jì)意圖:讓學(xué)生把課上對于廣告的思考繼續(xù)延伸到課后,幫助學(xué)生提升關(guān)注社會現(xiàn)象的意識,進(jìn)而進(jìn)行思考并表達(dá)感受。)
