【摘要】本文通過糾正電影《止殺令》漢語字幕的部分英譯錯(cuò)誤，期望引起大家對(duì)電影字幕翻譯準(zhǔn)確性的重視。

中國電影股份有限公司2013年3月出品的電影《止殺令》講述了全真教道長丘處機(jī)西行萬里，力勸成吉思汗止殺東歸的真實(shí)故事。該片配有中英文字幕，但英文字幕多處誤譯，現(xiàn)舉例部分并加以糾正。

1.1217年，蒙古的第一支商隊(duì)赴花喇子模通商，結(jié)果被全部斬首。1219年，成吉思汗率蒙古大軍討伐花喇子模。

原譯：In 1217， the first trade mission from the Mongolian Empire was sent to Khwarezmla. Every member was beheaded. In 1219， Genghis Khan went west with 120，000 soldiers.

改譯：In 1217， the first trade caravan from the Mongolian Empire went to Khwarezmla. Unfortunately， every member was beheaded. In 1219， Genghis Khan went west with 120，000 soldiers to crusade against Khwarezmla.

分析：商隊(duì)：trade caravan， 而trade mission為貿(mào)易使團(tuán)；討伐：crusade against，原譯未譯“討伐花喇子模”。

2.爺爺，日落之城快到了嗎？

原譯：Grandpa， are we at the city where the sun sets？

改譯：Grandpa， are we arriving at the city where the sun sets soon？

分析：原譯是說“我們?cè)谌章渲菃?？”快到了”?yīng)譯為arriving at ... soon。

3.大汗，請(qǐng)先離開，小心瘟疫。

原譯：Great Khan， stay back！ Beware the plague！

改譯：Your Majesty， stay back！ Beware of the plague！

分析：根據(jù)史料，當(dāng)面稱呼成吉思汗應(yīng)為“陛下” Your Majesty；小心，當(dāng)心：beware of。

4.大汗，避瘟毒的藥。

原譯：Great Khan， tonic to ward off plague

改譯：Your Majesty， this is the medicine to ward off plague

分析：治病的藥應(yīng)譯為medicine或medication，而tonic是補(bǔ)藥。

5.金國皇帝奉他座上賓中原無人不知。

原譯：He refused a grant of high appointment from the legendary Jin kings of the Eastern Plains.

改譯：It is known to all in the Central Plains that he is the honored guest of the Jin Emperor.

分析：座上賓：honored guest；中原：the Central Plains；皇帝emperor。

6.宋主特使求見，請(qǐng)師父南京議事。

原譯：A Song ambassador requests the Masters guidance in Luoyang！ 改譯：A Song ambassador requests the Masters guidance in Nanjing！

分析：原譯誤把“南京”（Nanjing）誤譯成了Luoyang （洛陽）。

7.有重禮相送。

原譯：Both ambassadors come with full honors.

改譯：Both ambassadors come with lavish gifts.

分析：重禮lavish gifts； 原譯中的full honors無“重禮”之義。

8.大汗親鑒，今日寅時(shí)有人看見一獨(dú)角獸口吐人語。

原譯：Great Khan， in the dawn hours， a strange beast was seen to speak.改譯：Your Majesty， in the dawn hours， a unicorn was seen to speak.

分析：獨(dú)角獸：unicorn，原譯把“獨(dú)角獸”誤譯成了a strange beast （奇怪的野獸）。

9.當(dāng)時(shí)大汗就要耶律楚材擬詔，要我?guī)е约旱馁~車來接先生。

原譯：On the spot， he ordered Yelv Chucai to compose an edict and gave me his own chariot to bring you back.

改譯：On the spot， His Majesty ordered Yelv Chucai to compose an edict and gave me his own carriage to bring you back.

分析：此處“大汗”應(yīng)譯成His Majesty；原譯誤把“賬車”carriage譯成“戰(zhàn)車”chariot。

10.丘處機(jī)先生上房伺候。

原譯：Your bidding is our duty， Master Qiu.

改譯：We are at your bidding / service， Master Qiu.

分析：at a persons bidding按某人的吩咐，at a persons service聽從某人的吩咐。原譯與漢語不符。

11.這百里之外誰來誰往，我提前一個(gè)月心里都有數(shù)。

原譯：I hear about whos coming for 100 li in every direction.

改譯：I know about whos coming from afar one month in advance.

分析：“心里都有數(shù)”可譯作know about； “提前一個(gè)月” 可譯作one month in advance；“百里之外”可譯作from afar。

12.我都不怕，一個(gè)大男人，你怕什么？

原譯：If Im not afraid of a big man like you， What are you afraid of？

改譯：If Im not afraid， a big man like you， What are you afraid of？

分析：原譯中的If條件句的of應(yīng)改為逗號(hào)。

13.道人都是看破紅塵的。

原譯：Those of the Way see beyond the Haze of Worldly Desires.

改譯：Taoist priests are disillusioned with the mortal world

分析：道人：Taoist priest； 看破紅塵：be disillusioned with the mortal world。

14.師父早就看出來，你是個(gè)風(fēng)塵女子。

原譯：The Master could tell youve been through hardships.

改譯：The Master could tell youre a prostitute.

分析：風(fēng)塵女子prostitute。

15.無量天尊，罪過罪過。

原譯：With heaven as my witness， forgive me！

改譯：Your Reverence， forgive me！

分析：“無量天尊” 是道士對(duì)別人的最高尊敬用語，可譯成Your Reverence，意為“尊敬的閣下”。

16.哪有什么招數(shù)？

原譯：Hardly worthy of a martial arts reference.

改譯：Hardly worthy of a martial art movement.

分析：“（武術(shù)）招數(shù)”譯作a wushu / martial art movement， 而“reference”無此意。

17.他是我的師兄。

原譯：I studied under the same master with him.

改譯：He is my senior fellow apprentice.

分析：“師兄”譯作senior fellow apprentice，而原譯是說師出同門，但未譯出“師兄”之意。

結(jié)語：細(xì)節(jié)決定成敗。中國電影要走向世界，字幕的英譯非常重要。這項(xiàng)工作要求細(xì)致、準(zhǔn)確，不得有任何馬虎。從《止殺令》的字幕英譯來看，中國電影國際化還任重道遠(yuǎn)。
