摘 要：翻譯是一種思維活動(dòng)，更是一種科學(xué)邏輯活動(dòng)。由于中西方語言的差異和邏輯思維的不同，并且科技英語作為一種特殊的文體，為使目標(biāo)語讀者能更加準(zhǔn)確地領(lǐng)會(huì)到原文的意義，這就要求譯者能用科學(xué)的邏輯思維方法來翻譯。

一、 引言

從理論上講，辯證科學(xué)邏輯包括了“科學(xué)研究與發(fā)現(xiàn)過程中所采用的邏輯方法論，如邏輯歸納與演繹、因果邏輯、假設(shè)邏輯、類比邏輯等”。本文主要基于科技英語為文本，探討了以上幾種語言邏輯思維方式對(duì)于翻譯的指導(dǎo)意義。

二、 例證

1. 邏輯歸納與邏輯演繹（principle of logic introduction and deduction）

[例1]然而，相較于十分古老的疾病如癌癥（在2000多年前的木乃伊中就發(fā)現(xiàn)有癌細(xì)胞），艾滋病對(duì)于人類還是一種新疾病。

[原譯]AIDS， compared to some ancient diseases like cancer—cancer cells have been found in more than 2000 years old mummies—however， is still a new disease to human beings.

盡管原譯文句子結(jié)構(gòu)的處理思路很好，但是句子開頭部分略顯冗長(zhǎng)，使用邏輯推理后發(fā)現(xiàn)，譯文與原文強(qiáng)調(diào)的核心不太一樣。

[改譯]However，compared with ancient diseases like cancer（cancer cells have been found in mummies that were made 2000 years ago），AIDS is quite new to human beings.

[例2]The report noted that being overweight has been linked to sickness and death from such diseases as high blood pressure， diabetes， heart disease and gallbladder.

[原譯]報(bào)告指出，過胖與疾病及諸如高血壓、糖尿病、心臟病和膽囊疾病引起的死亡有關(guān)。

經(jīng)科學(xué)的邏輯思考，過胖引起的疾病與舉例是一般到具體的關(guān)系，引起死亡的原因也不是由該類疾病直接引起，而是由于過胖。

[改譯]報(bào)告指出，肥胖容易引起疾病，容易導(dǎo)致由高血壓、糖尿病、心臟病和膽囊疾病等引起的死亡。

2. 因果邏輯（principle of causality）

[例]Autophagy is a hot topic in medicine， as biologists have come to realize that it helps protect the body from all kinds of ailments.

[原譯]細(xì)胞自噬是醫(yī)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的熱門課題，因?yàn)樯飳W(xué)家們逐漸意識(shí)到細(xì)胞自噬能幫助人類機(jī)體抵御各種疾病。

該譯文是一個(gè)典型的因果倒置的錯(cuò)譯，沒有領(lǐng)會(huì)到英文中的因果邏輯關(guān)系，翻譯切忌不要完全按照原文順序逐字翻譯，還可能導(dǎo)致前后用詞的重復(fù)。

[改譯]隨著生物學(xué)家們已逐漸意識(shí)到自噬有助于身體抵御各種疾病侵襲，自噬現(xiàn)象正成為醫(yī)學(xué)領(lǐng)域的一個(gè)熱門話題。

3. 假設(shè)邏輯（principle of presumption）

[例]一項(xiàng)由多國(guó)科學(xué)家參與的研究發(fā)現(xiàn)，艾滋病病毒（HIV）感染者如果在患病初期就接受抗逆轉(zhuǎn)錄病毒（ARV）治療，可以將病毒傳染給性伴侶的幾率減少96%。

[原譯]According to a research jointly conducted by scientists from many countries， if persons with HIV infection receive antiretroviral therapy（ARV）in an early stage， the HIV transmission risk to their partner can be reduced by 96%.

在原譯文的假設(shè)關(guān)系中，in an early stage的限定不清楚，部分翻譯的表述選詞不專業(yè)。如果使用被動(dòng)修飾句承當(dāng)假設(shè)關(guān)系及使用科技專業(yè)術(shù)語，能提高翻譯準(zhǔn)確性及語義清晰度。

[改譯]Scientists from many countries have carried out a research together， which shows that antiretroviral treatment， received at the initial stage of HIV infection， can reduce the odds of transmitting this virus from the infected to their sexual partners by 96%.

4. 類比邏輯（principle of analogy）

[例]以“世界末日”為背景的好萊塢災(zāi)難大片《2012》，講述了2012年12月21日，全人類經(jīng)歷了災(zāi)難和逃亡后，一部分人和動(dòng)物在“諾亞方舟”上存活下來的故事。

[原譯]In the background of “doomsday”， the Hollywood disaster film “2012” tells a story that on December 21， 2012， after the huge catastrophe， only part of the humans and animals escaped and survived on Noahs ark.

原譯的意思基本正確，但似乎未能把原文“全人類經(jīng)歷了……”的過程細(xì)致體現(xiàn)出來，諾亞方舟這個(gè)典故的意義也未通過類比邏輯體現(xiàn)出來，因而過于簡(jiǎn)略。

[改譯]In 2012， the Hollywood blockbuster about a cataclysm in the Doomsday scenario on December 21， 2012， tells a story of how humans and animals have struggled hard to escape from the worldwide catastrophe before some of them come to survive on the “Noahs ark”.

5. 邏輯句法理解（principle of logic syntax）

[例1]In computing work done， it is important always to keep in mind that the force and distance that are multiplied must be in the same direction.

[原譯]相乘的力和距離的方向必須相同，在所完成的計(jì)算工作中，記住這一點(diǎn)是重要的。

根據(jù)物理學(xué)專業(yè)知識(shí)和句子的語境，這里的work指的是做功，而不是計(jì)算工作。

[改譯]在計(jì)算所做的功時(shí)，用以相乘的力和距離必須沿同一方向，始終記住這一點(diǎn)是很重要的。

[例2]The scale of the changes already under way and the real value of a unified approach to studying human influences on the planet should surely quash these concerns.

[原譯]改變的范圍已經(jīng)在擴(kuò)大，因而研究人類對(duì)星球造成的影響需要統(tǒng)一方法，為體現(xiàn)這樣做的真正價(jià)值，就應(yīng)當(dāng)消除這些疑慮。

該譯文存在小句之間邏輯關(guān)系先后順序的理解錯(cuò)誤及對(duì)句子重心把握的失誤。

[改譯]變化的規(guī)模已經(jīng)在不斷擴(kuò)大，人們正在用統(tǒng)一的方法來研究人類對(duì)地球的影響，而這一做法體現(xiàn)出的真正價(jià)值必然會(huì)消除這些憂慮。

三、 小結(jié)

通過以上例句綜合分析，作為科學(xué)發(fā)現(xiàn)與研究活動(dòng)的普遍方法論，科學(xué)邏輯思維方法不僅指導(dǎo)著各學(xué)科的研究過程，也指導(dǎo)著科技文章的翻譯。只有在翻譯理論的指導(dǎo)下，科學(xué)地運(yùn)用語言邏輯思維，才能準(zhǔn)確地翻譯出科技信息，真正起到譯者的作用。
